Every May we have our Installation Banquet, where we name the woman who has been chosen "Sweet Adeline of the Year" by the chorus.
This special award is presented to the member selected by secret ballot of the Chapter membership who best exemplifies the spirit of fellowship and harmony while promoting the Chapter with service and song, considering her attitude, personality and enthusiasm.
At this year's event, the chorus chose Melissa Hunnefield (pictured).
Melissa is responsible for the creation of all flyers, brochures and other chorus promotional materials. She is very active in the recruitment and retention of chorus members and a go-to girl for chorus learning materials and technical questions. A former Fall Show co-chair, she continues to serve on the Fall Show committee; she's penned several scripts and designs the programs and ads. Several years ago Melissa co-arranged a personalized version of "Where In The World Is Red Rose City Chorus." She is on the chorus' Convention Hosting committee and helps maintain this web site.
Melissa is the tenor of chapter quartet, Group Therapy, and a former member of Harmony Connection. She is also involved in a mixed gender quartet, Sum of Each. As one of two chorus tenors, she's almost always in attendance when the chorus performs publicly. We are so proud to have Melissa in our chorus, and that she is our current Sweet Adeline of the Year!
